Cameron and Amy's Wedding Day

So the main reason I went to Las Vegas last weekend was for Cameron and Amy's wedding. I had a great time, the weather was great and here are a few pictures from the special day.

Amy getting ready.
Trace waiting to leave.
Jackie (not sure what she is looking at?)
Gracie.
Matthew looking sharp.
The Chapel . . . Chapel of the Flowers.
Dad in a suit?  LOL
"What are you looking at?" - Bailey
Amy and Cameron pulling in.
Mom and Dad.
Amber saying hello.
Cameron and Amy getting ready to leave in the limo.
We weren't allowed to take pictures during the ceremony or afterwards when the professional photographers were doing their thing.  Amber took a bunch of pictures after of Amy and Cameron.

Welcome to Las Vegas!

Landed at about 12:30 PM in Las Vegas, NV and was picked up at the airport by my parents.  The Southwest flight was packed and someone around me had a pretty bad case of B.O.  I couldn't pinpoint who it was but I double checked myself and it wasn't me!  Headed over to the Sahara Hotel to get checked in. We were the first ones to arrive, the rest were still on the road from California.  After checking in I made my way to an . . . wait for it . . . In-N-Out!  The double-double was AWESOME (wicked good for any of my East coast friends) and I am gonna try to have one or two more before I go home!  Hung out with the parents Friday night and had dinner at the NASCAR Cafe (not too impressed shoulda went to In-N-Out again) and actually went to bed kinda early for Las Vegas standards . . . midnight.

So the reason I am even in Las Vegas is to see my little sister Amy get married to her fiance Cameron.  Not too sure if they are nervous yet but with only a few more hours I imagine they are a little.  After that we are all heading over to Macayo's (sorry Marsha!) and then we probably won't see much of them the rest of the time.

Tomorrow I am heading out to Disneyland for the day with my mother-in-law and maybe brother-in-law and sister-in-law for the day.  I can't be this close to "The Happiest Place on Earth" and not go and I need to get one more use out of my annual pass to make it worthwhile.

I will post some pictures soon!

Disney's California Adventure Turns 10 Years Old

Today, February 8, 2011 Disney's California Adventure turns 10 years old. The park opened on February 8, 2001 and occupies the former parking lot for Disneyland where we would park when I was kid.

Although not as popular by the speech given by Walt Disney on July 17, 1955 when Disneyland opened, here is the speech given by Michael Eisner during the opening of Disney California Adventure:

“To all who believe in the power of dreams, welcome. Disney's California Adventure opens its golden gates to you. Here we pay tribute to the dreamers of the past: the native people, explorers, immigrants, aviators, entrepreneurs and entertainers who built the Golden State. And we salute a new generation of dreamers who are creating the wonders of tomorrow, from the silver screen to the computer screen, from the fertile farmlands to the far reaches of space. Disney's California Adventure celebrates the richness and the diversity of California... its land, its people, its spirit and, above all, the dreams that it continues to inspire.

”

Green Bay Packers - Super Bowl Champions

Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers on their 31-25 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.  This is their 4th Super Bowl Championship (Super Bowl I, Super Bowl II, Super Bowl XXXI, Super Bowl XLV) and their 13th overall league championship (1929, 1930, 1931, 1936, 1939, 1944, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1996, 2010).

Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers (24-39, 309 passing yards and 3 touchdowns) was named Super Bowl XLV Most Valuable Player.

Super Bowl XLV - Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh

Super Bowl XLV is less then 24 hours away and I am starting to get excited!  Now it would be better if my Raiders (no jokes please!) were playing in the big game but they are at home with the 29 other teams who didn't make it either.  So it is the NFC's Green Bay Packers (10-6-0) versus the AFC's Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4-0).  The Packers got to the Super Bowl with wins against the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears while the Steelers had a bye week in the Wild Card round and followed that up with wins against Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets.  What I am equally excited about is the Super Bowl commercials which for the last four years I had to watch after the actual game because AFN (Armed Forces Network) does not allow regular commercials.

MY PREDICTION:  Green Bay 21, Pittsburgh 20

Happy Birthday Kaylee

Today we celebrated Kaylee's 7th birthday!  She started with breakfast (eggs, sausage and bacon), then she opened her presents and right after lunch we headed out to see Yogi Bear 3D.  For dinner she chose her favorite restaurant, Country Buffet and then it was back home for cake and ice cream!

The birthday girl!
Waiting patiently for her presents.
What's inside here?
A new dress from Great-Grandma.
. . . another new dress from Grandma.
Kaylee's birthday cake . . . she helped mommy make it!
Happy Birthday to you.
Make a wish!
One of her presents included a new "Barbie" bike which she got to ride for a few minutes before we headed to the movies.  By the time we got home from dinner it looked like this in the neighborhood again.

Part of our front yard and driveway!
She may have to wait a few weeks for better weather and then she can test out her new bike.
