Green Bay Packers - Super Bowl Champions

Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers on their 31-25 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.  This is their 4th Super Bowl Championship (Super Bowl I, Super Bowl II, Super Bowl XXXI, Super Bowl XLV) and their 13th overall league championship (1929, 1930, 1931, 1936, 1939, 1944, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1996, 2010).

Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers (24-39, 309 passing yards and 3 touchdowns) was named Super Bowl XLV Most Valuable Player.

Super Bowl XLV - Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh

Super Bowl XLV is less then 24 hours away and I am starting to get excited!  Now it would be better if my Raiders (no jokes please!) were playing in the big game but they are at home with the 29 other teams who didn't make it either.  So it is the NFC's Green Bay Packers (10-6-0) versus the AFC's Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4-0).  The Packers got to the Super Bowl with wins against the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears while the Steelers had a bye week in the Wild Card round and followed that up with wins against Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets.  What I am equally excited about is the Super Bowl commercials which for the last four years I had to watch after the actual game because AFN (Armed Forces Network) does not allow regular commercials.

MY PREDICTION:  Green Bay 21, Pittsburgh 20

Raiders Beat Chiefs In OT

Jason Campbell threw a 47-yard pass to rookie Jacoby Ford in overtime to set up a 33-yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski that gave the Oakland Raiders their biggest win in eight years, a 23-20 victory over the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Campbell and Ford hooked up on a 29-yard pass in the closing seconds of regulation to set up Janikowski's tying 41-yard field goal. The Raiders (5-4) then won it in overtime for their most significant victory since winning the 2002 AFC championship.
By winning their third straight game for the first time since that season, Oakland heads into its bye week just a half-game behind Kansas City (5-3) in the division.  (From NFL.com)
Jason's Player of the Game
WR Jacoby Ford (R) - 6 catches for 148 yards, 156 kickoff return yards plus a kickoff return for a TD.

Did You Know
The Raiders are now 3-0 in division games this season and are the 2nd highest scoring team in the NFL with 235 points scored.  The San Diego Chargers (4-5) are the top scoring team with 239
